Our lead consultant Lucy Cripps has had ten years experience in the IT sector. After graduating with a 1st in Business Information Techonolgy in 1993 she went to work for CIBC World Markets. First working for the financial systems department she developed and supported an OLAP system using Oracle Express. Additionally finance systems were developed using Access,Visual Basic, and Crystal reports. In 1996 she was promoted into the Systems departments where she was responsible for the support and development of a number of back office systems including a central customer database, finance systems and bank of england reporting. These systems used a variety of tools and programs including sysbase, sql server, access, visual basic. Shortly after this she was promoted to IT Director level where she took responsibility for all back office client server systems managing a team of five developers.

This role included Technical Design, Programming, Project Management. and Strategy for the client server team. · Managing team development including training, appraisals and recruitment.· Liasing with internal and external clients to help identify requirements and solutions. In 1999 she was lured away by the prospect of internet riches and set up an internet company with the Managing Director of Liveski Limited. Although the site was a great success and came second in a Sunday Times survey of Ski internet sites, the riches never materialised and the company is now in limbo. She return to the city and worked as a contractor for Rothschilds where she developed a number of web based systems. In 2001 she started decided to go down the consultancy route and setup Altworks Limited which specialises in consultancy and web solutions.

Client/Server Projects included:

Finance Project - Analysis of Finance requirements for integration into the DataWarehouse
Redesign and Development of a DataWarehouse for Finance and Bank of England reporting. using Visual Basic on a NT client, Sybase on a Unix server and the Abacus BOE reporting tool.·
Standards - Development of standard release software using InstallShield 5 and stardardising developers desktop around visual studio.· Y2K and EMU - Upgrades and re-release of software for Y2K compliance and EMU compatibility.·
Central Reporter. - Development of central reporting tool to download data from various system including Midas on the AS/400 and GLOSS on a Unix server.

Web Projects Included:

Online Graduate Recruitment application form. The application stores candidates responses in a database for ease of cross candidate reporting. Each candidate's response is also printed in a standard application form format to facilitate the interview process. Generic Search Facility Development of a generic search facility used to search for documents on the LAN and web server. Application could be generically applied across the intranet sites and internet site. Tombstone Conversion and normalisation of access database containing deal details to SQL server. Development of web front end to query and investigate with drill down facility. The tools used for this were, IIS4, ASP, SQL Server, Javascript, DHTML., AccessURL: Intranet
